Help with information on old survey instruments
FUSRAP St. Louis has been tasked with collecting some data on the MDAs for
some surface contamination survey instruments that were used in the 1950's
to 1960's timeframe. We could use your help with any information regarding
the following instruments:
Victoreen Model 389C (Thyac? GM-type survey meter)
Victoreen Model 356 (Ion chamber used for alpha contamination surveys)
Eberline PAC-3G (Gas proportional counter used for alpha contamination
surveys)
Any information on the typical background, window dimensions, window
material and density thickness, and typical instrument efficiency for
Natural Uranium would be appreciated.
We have, of course, done an internet search and have contacted the
manufacturers directly with limited success.
Please feel free to contact Mr. Mark Peterson at 314.429.9340 x14 or email
Mark.A.Peterson@saic.com with any questions or comments.
Thanks in advance for you help!
