RE: Radioactive statue base in Washington



Any statue base (or construction material) that uses granite is likely

to have associated elevated radioactivity.  My only quibble with the

article is that Milloy doesn't explain WHY the dose rates are elevated. 

I've also heard that one of the legislative office buildings has a

elevator counterweight made of depleted uranium.
