As a group, we routinely get sucked into debates about the risk of radiation and we usually lose to the anti-nuclear "good guy" who's "protecting" the public.  If we would focus on how easy it is to protect oneself (using common sense in applying time, distance, shielding and contamination control), we could look like the good guys for a change.  With today's perceived threat of radiological dispersion devices, we have a great opportunity to be the good guys.  People will become less fearful, as they feel empowered with the knowledge of how to protect themselves. You know and I know that we are the one's protecting the public, not the anti-nukes.  we need to tell this to folks.
