First International Conference on Applied
Physics (APHYS-2003) Dear Colleagues, Due to the high number of pre-registration and expressions of interest on this topic, the Conference organization has decided to organize an International Interdisciplinay Workshop on Radiation Protection and Dosimetry replacing the Workshop on Occupational Radiation Protection which was firstly announced. Occupational Radiation Protection will then be one of the topics of the Workshop. Some other topics will be then included in the Workshop, and specially those relating Radiation Protection with the other conference topics such as Materials Science, Imaging Techniques, Computational Methods, etc. Therefore, papers on the following topics are also encouraged (for the list of topics related to Occupational Radiation Protection, please refer to the Conference website): · Solid State Physics and Materials Science in Radiation
Dosimetry/Dating As you may know, APHYS-2003 will also serve as a platform to search for partners for transnational collaboration projects, specially for the EU Sixth Framework Program (NETworks of Excellence and Integrated Projects). "Projects Presentations" and "Call for Partners" presentations proposals are therefore encouraged and welcomed. If you are interested in taking part of this Conference feature, please send us the corresponding form available at the website. In addition to the "traditional" oral contributed and posters presentation, a Virtual Participation modality has been established for those researchers unable to attend it in person. A limited number of works can be presented in this way. Please refer to the Conference website for details. If you are interested in taking part of APHYS-2003, please send us your PRE-REGISTRATION FORM (at the main website of the conference) as soon as possible. The pre-registration form is also available through the direct URL http://www.formatex.org/aphys2003/preregistration.htm Deadline for abstracts submission is April 15th 2003 although we highly recommend you to submit your abstract as soon as possible to avoid saturation during the days before the deadline. As announced, papers related to Radiation Protection and Dosimetry will be reviewed for publication in a special issue of Radiation Protection Dosimetry. In addition, the special issue of Physica Scripta will also contain other radiation-related topics. Other praticipating publications for interest for radiation-related researchers are Applied Surface Science, Applied Physics A: Materials Science & Engineering and Journal of Microscopy.
