Radiochemistry Lab Technician Position



Safety and Ecology Corporation (SEC) is in the process of hiring a

Radiochemistry Lab Technician for a project located in Maywood, NJ.  Please

see job description and requirements listed below:



Title: Radiochemistry Lab Technician (RLT)



Description:	The Radiochemistry Lab Technician (RLT) will be responsible for

the preparation of environmental soil and water samples for analysis by

radiation detection systems.



Duties:	The RLT is required to prepare chemicals and reagents, and work with

strong acids and bases. The RLT will perform precipitations, chemical

separations, and ion column separations. The individual will handle

radioactive materials and will ensure all work is performed in strict

compliance with Lab operating procedures and site-specific radiological

control requirements. Written Lab Notebook entry and Computer data entry

using MS Excel and MS Access is required.



Education: 	An Associates Degree in Chemical Technologies or Life Sciences

preferred



Experience:	At least a two-year background in chemical lab operations

desired.  Associates degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Experience with radioactive materials and detection systems desirable but

not required. Added consideration for individuals experienced with EPA and

DOE methods for analysis.
