Re: MSNBC News Item - Uranium hunter follows trail of tiles
This is the e-mail I sent to MSNBC:

Subject: Risk from Tiles containing Uranium
I am doubtful the tiles pose any risk. Why? We have the evidence of
people, who live in areas with elevated background radiation levels:
1. Kerala province in India.
2. Ramsar, Iran.
3. Guaparag, Brazil.
Epidemiological studies in thes locations have failed to show any evidence
of elevated incidence of cancer or other diseases. In fact, the study of
cancer incidence in Kerala, India showed the population there had a lower
incidence of cancer than the rest of India. Furthermore, the decrease
actually showed a high degree of correlation with the level of background
radiation.
Sincerely,
Joan E. Stovall
