Re: Atmospheric dispersion

To all who answered my question regarding atmospheric dispersion: Thank

You!

The answers were varied but the general consensus seems to be that, in

the case of a puff release, dispersion along the x-axis should be about

the same as that along the y-axis, so sigma-sub-xI should have the same

value as sigma-sub-yI. This makes sense and is the assumption I had

originally used before seeking professional advice. When I see a puff a

deisel exhaust, it usually seems to disperse about equally in all

directions until it finally disappears.
