June 17

	More about the shipyard study will be found at

<www.ratical.org/radiation/KillingOurOwn/KOO7.html>

	This is an anti-nuclear site, and the text is from "KILLING OUR OWN

Chronicling the Disaster of America's Experience with Atomic Radiation,

1945-1982," by Harvey Wasserman and Norman Solomon (Delta, 1982).

	If you go to the above link, scroll down the page about 2/3rds of the way

to the sub-heading "The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard."

	According to this book, Thomas Najarian was "a blood specialist at Boston

Veterans' Hospital."

	Thomas Najarian and Theodore Colton published a paper (article?) "Leukemia

among Shipyard Workers," in The Lancet, June 1978 (page nos. not given).

(From the book: "In June of 1978 Najarian and Colton published a paper in

Lancet, indicating a leukemia rate among exposed Portsmouth workers that

was four times normal.") Colton is a statistician who assisted Najarian.
