Strotium-90 Eye Applicators

Can anybody out there in Radsafe Land give me a little information specific

to eye applicators?

I have gotten two indications of loading 50 and 100 mCi. And gather that

early ones were sealed with shellac or varnish and latter ones had the

strontium placed onto the source. I gather they are in the form of a rod

with a plastic beta shield and applied by the physician to the eye.

I am looking for both the dose rate delivered the range of dimensions of the

active area and range of doses to be delivered in the treatments.

Additional descriptive information is also of interest.

Thanks
