Franz, Radsafers,

I can confirm that I am getting exactly the same kind of spam and related junk which Franz lists and that there has been a marked increase with time.  I am not aware of any other link which we share but Radsafe.  As Kai has pointed out, the e-mail addresses are quite available for a data miner.  If it becomes unbearable, one could change one's address, but that has disadvantages too.

Being the one who unknowingly started this long thread by asking, whether a

new kind of spam could probably be related to RADSAFE, but at the same time

expressing my opinion that it could hardly be, I would like to draw a

conclusion:



I am convinced that Michael Stabin has done all he could, to prevent that

RADSAFE would be the source of spam. My question came out of the fact that

it was the first spam which was related to the USA. On the other side

obviously nobody can be safe, not to become the target of spammers. Sadly to

read, that there is obviously no chance to escape them and no chance to

catch them. I receive at the moment daily at least twenty "Nigerian

connection" mails and about the same number of miscellaneous mails ranging

from DVD copying programmes, cheap Viagra, penis- and breast-enlargment to

lotteries where I have never participated in, but won millions. The spam I

receive at my office is definitely different, but across the same line.

Filters do not work, because the senders' address changes every time and

sensitive words are changed by changing one or two letters ("pur/no").



My final conclusion is, that obviously RADSAFE is not at all involved in or

responsible for this kind of spam. This is what I wanted to know!!!
