FW: Eco-extremism

I can't agree here. If something is untrue and unfair it
should be resisted, even if there are benefits to its
realization. The goal of the anti-nukes is to eliminate
nuclear power, food irradiation, and other nuclear
technologies from society. This conflicts with the goals of
HPs which are to provide protection from needed technologies
while permitting their use. Imagine if our people could not
get heart surgery because a group of organized quacks had
convinced the media and enough politicians that scalpels
could be infected and rusty and that this surgery should
stop. Imagine if we could no longer travel outside the US
because the flat-earthers had won their "perception is
reality" game with the public and Congress. These are not
credible scenarios, I realize, but they are parallel
arguments to what we are experiencing.

Cool! "Telling the truth for a change" is an agenda that I
heartily endorse.
