Wow. I had thought at one time to relocate to Austin, just because I

like the culture there. But this salary seems unusually low. I know that

pay is also commensurate with area cost of living, but the Austin area

is getting expensive. The lower range of this offered salary is what I

make now, but the COL where I am is relatively low, so then the salaries

are also less (Median annual income here is just under $18k according to

the 2000 census. No, not a typo.). Perhaps this may be related to lower

state appropriated funding for this position?
