RE: query
Bernie
I never thought there was a good reason for the difference. I thinks that's
why the "up-to-date" numbers in Table E.1 of ICRP Publication 68 are 5 x E-5
for all compounds of Am and 5 x E-5, 1 x E-4 and 1 x E-5 for unspecified
compounds of Pu, Pu nitrates and insoluble Pu. That is, only unspecified
compounds of Pu and Am have the same values. My limited experience tells me
that this is better than it used to be.

Subject: query
ICRP Publication 30 gives the absorption thru the G-I tract into the
blood stream, f1, to be 5 times higher for Americium than for Plutonium;
5E-4 for Am and 1E-4 for Pu. Does anyone know if these values are
up-to-date? What is the explanation for this big difference?
