Re: Badge Readings Part 2

Factors to investigate (purely a technical assessment):

1. This is an angular irradiation. Therefore, what angular Ck factors

are incorporated in the dose algorithm, is extremely important. ANSI

N13.11-2001 blind tests Cat II for up to +/- 60 degrees, in both the

H and V orientation. How a TLD responds, or other technology, should

be looked at.

2. Static or Dynamic exposure is not an issue with film, in that you

can see the patterns, and, can determine whether there is a single or

multiple static exposure.

3. What did the dose algorithm determine the potential energy of the

exposure come from. Algorithm uncertainty can be considerable,

depending on the sophistication of the algorithm development.

Any provider of dosimetry should be asked how the above is handled,

they should provide the program details, and have the documentation

put in writing.
