The authors may think the equation is correct. All the equations in this 

section confuse algebraic symbols with units.



The international convention is that algebraic symbols should be in italics 

and units in Roman type. If the equations were in Roman type they would 

make partial sense, but the idea of writing an equation using units instead 

of algebraic symbols has led several of my students to make serious errors.
