The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, on beautiful Cape Cod, has an employment opening for a Safety & Health Officer.



POSITION: Safety & Health Officer; Environmental Health & Safety Office; Announcement Number: 04-07-05.



POSITION SUMMARY: Serves as the Institution's Chemical hygiene Officer, conducts safety training, lab safety inspections, exposure evaluations, and accident/incident inspections. Responsible for record keeping, chemical inventory control, emergency response, and responding to chemical  spills and employee concerns. BS degree in science or engineering and 3 years of related experience in an academic or research organization preferred. Must be able to lift, move & handle materials weighing up to 45 lbs and wear personal protective equipment.
