Education:A Bachelor's Degree in Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:One or more year of job related experience; strongly prefer two or more years experience in related field and in a college/university environment setting. Computer related experience to include Data Bases, Windows, and MS Office programs. Selection process will include a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening test, and a background check.
Duties:Health Physicist (HP) to support Radiation Safety Program and compliance with state and federal regulations for Georgia Tech and Georgia Tech Research Institute. Duties include reviewing surveys and other documentation, inspection of X-Ray units, contamination control, safety training, radioactive waste management, shipment, dosimetry services, calibration of instrumentation. Solid technical knowledge required for Hot Cell sources removal and full Decommissioning of Hot Cell. Availability to work off hours for major projects and 24hr emergency response required.
