Position Announcement
Description: Tenure track position for an assistant professor in
Health Physics Program, Department of Physics. This is a regular,
academic position which requires teaching, research and service.
Teaching will include classroom instruction of undergraduate and
graduate students, advising, and supervision of graduate thesis work.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research
program in an area related to health physics. Possibilities for
reasearch collaboration exist within the University, at the nearby
Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, and at area medical
institutions. The current Health Physics Program research interests
are primarily in environmental health physics, dosimetry, low-energy
accelerators, and waste management.
The posistion requires an earned doctorate in Health Physics, Medical
Physics, Nuclear Science or a closely related field. Certification
or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Health
Physics is desirable.
A complete application consists of a cover letter expressing
interest, offical transcripts form all acedemic institutions
attended, a cirriculum vitae and three letters of recommendation form
professionalls in the field of health physics. Consideration of
canadate will begin April 1, 1994, and continue until the posistion
is filled. Salary for a nine-month appointment is negotiable.
