Description: Manager of the Radiological/Environmental Field
Programs Division supporting the Yucca Mountain High Level
Radioactive Waste Repository site characterization program. This
program is directed by the Department of Energy at the Nevada
Test Site and operated by SAIC, an employee owned company, under
a Technical and Management Support Services Contract. This
position is responsible to lead an environmental radiation
monitoring program, consisting of seven technician and
professional staff. This program is sampling for air,
particulate, soil, biota, water, radon and ambient background
radiation levels in a desert environment. The Manager will plan,
schedule and task division staff to implement all aspects of the
day to day operations of the monitoring program. Manager is also
tasked with the responsibility to implement and assure the
quality of a health physics/radiation safety program, implement
environmental data collection, and assure radiation health and
safety.  Requirements: minimum B.S.in health physics, or directly
related fields, technical experience in radiation
protection/environmental monitoring and instrumentation, 
Successful candidate will have technical experience plus
management experience in dealing with personnel issues, customer
relations, and have good organizational skills with ability to
effectively plan and delegate technical work. Experience with DOE
Orders and RadCon manual is a plus. Level of experience required
for this position is that which would normally be acquired with
five years relevant experience. This position is at the Nevada
Test Site where personnel are working four 10 hour day shifts.
