Sorry - but you won't find the information on PuBe source design.

I undertook the same search last year.  ALL the information there ever was 
seems to have died/retired with the individuals that made the sources!

Even IF the design data/prints were available - it seems that the bottom 
line is that you need sealed source certification papers and since there was 
so such certification then - there are no such papers.

At LBL we are considering disposing of ALL the sources and replacing them 
with an "intelligently" selected range of Pu-238 Be sources.  This will 
eliminate the anisotropy problems with the 239 sources.

Unfortuantely we do have some NBS calibrated 238 sources that will have to 
go too - Same manufacturer - same problem.
