You're right.  I hadn't bothered to look up the decay scheme, since
I've only worried about the gamma from Ir-192.  LSC would be very
efficient for the specific Beta coming off.  In which case, you should
use whatever detector you have readily available.  Gas proportional
counting would also be good, since you can more easily quantify the
Alpha from the DU.  LSC is very nice for "Yes/No" on (most?) alpha
emitters, but I'd hate to do the stats on it.
