Magnetic drum reading

 Thanks to everyone who replied to my question. From previous posts, I thought 
it might be some type of anti-static system but wasn't sure. I asked as to 
what type of detectors were used. Both a pancake and a side window. There was 
very little difference. Also, they used an old portable mca with a NaI 
detector. The spectrum is similar to the radium daughters and the energies 
were close to what one would expect. I believe they are going to call it 
radium.
