Re: medical physics employment market

In the post-graduate medical physics and bio-engineering course at
Aberdeen University, Scotland there were 50 students studying for
post-graduate diplomas or masters degrees.

They are now employed as follows:

6 grade 'A' medical physicists,
8 doing Phd's in medical physics related topics,
4 reasearch assistants in medical physics,
2 computing/system analysts,
1 medical techincal officer,
1 now studying medecine.

These people are only those based in the UK. There are 16 overseas students who
have returned home. I do not know what the majority are doing, but at least
6 of the greek students returned home to do National Service.

This leaves 12 who are either working in unrelated fields, killing time, or
travelling the world (at least 2 are doing the latter.)

Hope this helps,
