RE: Simulation of Radioactive Contamination
Back in the days when I had to (dis-)organize medical emergency drills
at hospitals in support of an another nuke power plant emergency plan,
we used detergents w/high concentration of phosphate or something
called "Glow worm (or something like that)" to simulate contamination
on "victims." We sometimes hid lamp mantles, also. At the end of the
drills, we would turn-off the lights and use black lights to show
where the contamination on the victims went. Medical staff at the
hospitals didn't want any REAL radioative contamination spread around.
We also simulated decontamination of hospital staff and hallways using
pancake GM survey meter, and, (holy smokes!) sometimes found REAL
contaminations from their nuclear medicine dept. (Notice I didn't
mention any names).

P.S.: We used to have wooden neutrons then...
