According to my files we had a huge discussion on this topic the first of
this year....it began with radioactivity in coal, followed by the amount of
airborne radioactivity produced by burning it, and finally ended up with
discussions on the linear-no-threshold hypothesis.  Not even the best monte
carlo models can predict the path of a single topic on RADSAFE!

In any event, Alex Gabbard of Oak Ridge National Laboratory wrote an article
for Science News last year (Oct. 1, Vol 146, No. 14) that will answer your
