Re: rad-safe message

Hi All,

First, the request:

HPS newsletter - hpsnews@aol.com - Org - HPS

We have a list of e-mail addresses associated with radiation protection
and health physics at our web site. This can be reached by going to our
WWW site http://www.umich.edu/~bbusby/ and going to professional, then
internet communication, and then e-mail directory. Or you can just go to:
http://www.umich.edu/~bbusby/emlist.htm

We also have sections for information on the HPS and HPS Journal, AAPM,
ABHP, NRRPT, ISO, ANSI, Federal Reg., ect. This includes e-mail addresses
for address changes, subscriptions, the Secretariet, ect.

Secondly,

About the Plutonium short essay that Sandy Perle posted from our site. We
have a section for basic information for the general public,
including short essays, history, terms, and FAQ. We also have a question
form for people to ask questions, sort of a "ask a Hp" service. One we
recieved a few months ago was on plutonium. On many questions, I ask HPs who
have offered to help to provide answers. Gary Masters answered the
question for me, and I thought his answer so good that I asked if I could
put it on our web site to allow others with questions on plutonium to find
it. It was not meant to be a peer reviewed article, but a general answer to
a non-professional question. I think it is fine as is and properly serves
it function. I really thank those of you like Gary who have spent your
time answering questions I have sent you or posted on Radsafe.

If there is anyone else who has some free time, we can always use more
professionals to answer questions. Questions come in sometimes
a few a week, sometimes in dozens. Most are basic, but you would be
surprized.

As mentioned, we get a few thousand non-HPs visiting our site every
month, but we do provide some services for professionals: e-mail
directory, job listing, commercial directory (new), links to regulatory
agencies, Conference listing, ect.
