Re[4]: Van de Graaff decon

There was no distinct advantage in using chelating agents for the
tritium decon project that I was involved in. We actually researched
about ten different methods for decon before falling back on three or
four preferred ones. The only caution I was raising in my response
was the prohibition on chelating agents that are common in many
     household cleaners (e.g., Tide).

Is a chelating agent really helpful when deconning tritium, or would
plain old detergent do just as well? You National Lab tritium folks
can jump in here.
