Robert Coveyou



Robert Coveyou passed away February 19 in Oak Ridge.  He was an
original member of the small group of radiation protection specialists at
the University of Chicago who first adopted the title of Health Physicist.
This group was assembled under the leadership of Ernest Wollan in
1942/43. First and foremost, Robert Coveyou was  a mathematician  - 
his tenure as an HP was brief. An avid chess player, he was a Michigan
state champ and on a number of occasions an  opponent of a young kid
by the name of Bobby Fischer.
