Dates:	October 13 - 17, 1996

	The 42nd Annual Conference on Bioassay, Analytical, and Environmental
Radiochemistry will convene in San Francisco 13 - 17 October, 1996. This
annual Conference is a vehicle for chemists, physicists, and dosimetrists to
gain insight, share experiences, and develop solutions to problems in a very
informal setting. The hosts for the 42nd annual meeting will be Lawrence
Livermore National Laboratory, Berkeley National Laboratory, Thermo NUtech
corporation, and Pacific Gas and Electric company.
	The meeting will be held at the Cathedral Hill Hotel in a central location
in San Francisco. October in San Francisco is generally indian summer
weather with warm days and cool clear nights. The Cathedral Hill Hotel is
three blocks from Japan Town, eight blocks from Davies Symphony Hall and
Union Square, and about two miles from Fisherman's Wharf. The hotel is on
main bus routes and four blocks from a Cable Car route. Many fine
restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The hotel has reserved a
block of rooms at $87 (plus tax-currently 12%) per night for conference
attendees. The rates are good from October 10 through October 20. The block
of rooms will be held until September 13, 1996,  so be sure to reserve early.
	We are soliciting ideas and volunteers to conduct the workshop sessions on
Monday, October 14. Vendors will be invited to participate in the meeting
and display their products throughout the meeting. Deadlines for submitting
titles, abstracts, and workshop suggestions are shown below.
