Radsafers,

Dale's silly question is not that silly.  Xetex recently sold me a
"waterproof" radiation detector (Model 302B) that dids exclude water and
thereby permit streaming.  This unit failed to remain waterproof even
after returning the unit several times.  I also pointed out the
streaming problem to Xetex and they corrected it for me by drilling
holes to let water into the pole.

The pole comes with a number of holes, allowing water to enter it as it
is submerged, and drain out of it as it is removed
