Film Dosimetry

At what levels of extreme exposure are film badges unreadable?  I understand
that the external dosimetry worn by some of the Chernobyl workers were
subject to such high exposures that their badges were useless.  I've
searched through some older literature at our facility.  Some of the info
may be a bit dated.
