Note, however, that some of these designations are obsolete - DoT is 
moving to the UN designations for Performance Oriented Packaging.  In 
particular, the specs for some steel drums, 6M I think, heven't been in 
the CFR for many years.  I drove myself crazy a while back trying to find 
such a spec until a person at DoT informed me that the spec had probably 
last appeared in the 1990 version of 49 CFR.  Be aware of this if you have 
a very recent CFR.
