  I would also check if there are any organic solvents being used in the
synthesis that can be carrying the activity through the latex.  I know of a
situation many years ago when someone was synthesizing C-14 vitamin K in
high quantity.  Even tho he traveled 3 states over to be doing it a lab set
up for high activity experiments and they had all the "right" equipment, he
showed significant contamination in urine and skin wipes months later.
