We use the MDA calculation addressed in REG GUIDE 8.25 and NUREG 1400. The REG GUIDE and NUREG use a formula that corrects for counting samples with different background and sample count times. To use 2.71 or 3.0 can best be explained by Dr. Strom at PNNL. Jerryh2296@aol.com
