I suggest in order to convert mRem vs. cpm for U-238 using a Ludlum 3, (you
didn't state the probe type, that is the most crucial piece of information),
that you contact Ludlum and ask them.  They have conversion factors for all
probes, and in addition have sensitivity graphs showing energy dependence.
Their phone number in Texas is (915) 235-5494.  This is the most simple and
direct solution for your question....
