Radiation Safety Tech Position
The Cleveland Clinic Foundation (CCF), Radiation Safety Department has
an opening for a Radiation Safety Technologist, starting immediately.
Qualifications are a B.S. in physics, chemistry, HP, or comparable field.
One year of experience in the HP field can be substituted for the BS. CCF
is a broad scope NRC licensee with approximately 80 approved users in
addition to being a 1000+ bed teaching hospital with an active Radiation
Oncology and Nuclear Medicine department.
Radiation Safety presently consists of 9 FTE (1 Med. Health
Physicist/Interim RSO, 1 Medical Health Physicist, 1 Radiation Safety
Assistant, 1 Department Coordinator, 4 RS Technologists, and 1
administrative secretary). The RS Assistant and Technologists primarily
support the research side of the program with responsibilities including
package survey/delivery, waste collection/monitoring for release,
documentation, quarterly audits of each approved user, and support of
Iodine-131 therapy treatments including room preparation, monitoring and
decontamination. The individual must possess a valid driver's license, a
full range of motion with the ability to lift up to 100# and move up to 400#
with proper equipment (doesn't occur often) and the ability to climb a
ladder.
