The maximum acceptable concentration of a radionuclide (MAC) is based on
consumption of 2 litres per day and a maximum committed effective dose of
0.1 mSv, or 10% of the ICRP limit of public exposure. For tritium, the MAC
is 7000 Bq/L based on a dose conversion factor of 1.8xE-11 Sv/Bq.
