CRSO Association
Dear Radsafers:
After receiving numerous inquiries about the Campus Radiation
Safety Officers (CRSO) Association I have decided to tell you a little
bit about its history. The university and hospital radiation protection
officers from Canada and the USA have met on a biennial basis, for
the past 29 years. They have met on an alternate basis in both
countries. This international group (nowadays people from other
institutions and other countries are also participating) of
professionals, has shared its experience and expertise by presenting
frank, practical, and effective solutions to the ever-changing problems
encountered in institutional radiation safety programs.
We do not have "Officers", with the exception of the President (Bill
Schadt) and the Keeper of the List (Armando Zea). If anyone wishes
to assume either position, just attend the next meeting in Victoria,
B.C. and have someone propose your name. There is no
membership fee to join the association. No application forms are
necessary. All we need to know is your name, the institution where
you work, your address, your telephone and fax numbers and your
e-mail address. This invitation is also extended to RSOs from other
countries as well.
Our next meeting will be organized by the University of Victoria's
RSO, Renato Danesin, together with the Canadian Radiation
Protection Association. It will take place during May 1997.
If you are already a member, I need your e-mail address as soon as
possible. If your address or phone/fax numbers have changed in the
last ten years, please send me the new numbers directly to my
e-mail address.
Thank you,
Armando E. Zea
