re: Re: Relocation of dosimetry service

     Mr. Ascione,

I agree with you in principle regarding the posting of inappropriate
material to the RADSAFE forum. However, I doubt that we could get a
consensus from all of the users on this list regarding whether or not
a given posting is appropriate. In fact, I find your criticism of ICN
to be only somewhat more palatable than their criticism of the former
     Siemens management.

I also agree with you that Melissa has an unenviable task managing
this forum. From my perspective, she does a damned fine job of it.
She deserves kudo's for her efforts, not criticism.

And, while I'm certainly not here to defend the methodology of the ICN
posting, isn't it just possible that ICN has been receiving a great
deal of "negative press" regarding the acquisition of Siemens?
Perhaps they could have used a more diplomatic means, but I prefer to
believe that ICN is attempting to inform everyone in the community
that they are working as hard as they can to remedy any problems, real
or imagined. To that end, RADSAFE will likely reach more users (as
well as potential clients and/or detractors) than would individual
written communications with only their current clients.

All things considered, I must say I'm disappointed with your decision
to quit RADSAFE. Not everything we encounter in a group such as this
can be purely informative and free of disharmony. Can you imagine how
boring that would be? How would we all stay awake long enough to read
it! I believe that the only way we can have a _useful_ forum is for
any and all concerned subscribers to share their experiences, make
their views known, and to stand ready to take their lumps if they've
     got any coming.

You've offered your opinion. My opinion is that you should stick
around, and maybe take a few lumps with the cream. I'm sure I'll have
to take a couple of shots for this message, but personally, I am not
about to let one or two "flame jobs" turn me away from this valuable
     resource.

I'm posting this response to RADSAFE, and I'm sending it directly to
you, just in case you've already jumped ship.

Naturally, my employer is clueless regarding anything I say here. All
     usual disclaimers apply.
