'96 AAHP Exam Results

     At its Fall meeting on November 22-23, the American Board of Health 
     Physics carefully considered the issue of posting the names of 
     successful candidates on the AAHP web site.  In the interest of 
     protecting the privacy of individual candidates, the Board decided 
     that each candidate should receive the official written notification 
     of his or her results before they were posted on the web. As a result, 
     the examination results will not be posted electronically until the 
     week of December 16.  
     
     The following information concerning examination results is not 
     considered sensitive and is being made available at this time:
     
     Part 1 --102 of 270 passed
     Part 2 --136 of 230 passed
     
     As a result of the 1996 examination, 134 individuals may be added to 
     the roster of active Certified Health Physicists.  The passing rates 
     for Parts 1 and 2 are within the range of historical results for both 
     examinations.
     
     Further information will be made available through the AAHP web site 
     and the CHP Corner published in the Health Physics Society Newsletter.
