Sigh...

The unfortunate reality is that most US-trained physicians (outside of 
Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine) receive no training at all 
about radiation safety or radiation biology.

Even in Radiology, training may be minimal, and it is probably not reinforced 
by any serious continuing education.

Ph.D. trained in biomedical science will get some on-the-job training, but it 
is informal and no better than the knowledge of their advisors.

Yes, it's very scary, and I know from personal experience that some very bad 
information is being given out.

BTW:  I'm a Ph.D. Radiation Biologist at a US Medical School -- I know what 
is, and is not being taught here.
