Re: textbook correct?

Diagnostic x-rays play a significant role in cancer development????? Maybe it's
not such a CRAZY statement.

According to UNSCEAR 1993, the world wide annual collective dose from all
diagnostic procedures is 1.8E6 person Sv. Using ICRP60 risk factors, this
equates to 90,000 fatal cancers per year from diagnostic procedures.

Mmmmmm, 90,000 per year, assuming the risk factors are applicable at very low
doses, in a population of 5 billion.... OK, It is a crazy statement!!!

How about this hypothesis; Radiotherapy plays a significant role in cancer
induction.
