Position Announcement, NYCDOHBRH Director



Director, Bureau of Radiological Health, New York City Department of 
Health
 Salary range: $38,383 to $76,085, commensurate with experience.
 NYCDOH seeks experienced manager to oversee programs and activities of
 Bureau.  Director will report directly to and consult with, the Deputy
 and Assistant Commissioners on establishment of program goals and
 objectives that protect the health and safety of the public with respect
 to the use of radiation-producing equipment and radioactive materials.
 Candidates require a Masters degree or 30 graduate credits in physics,
 mathematics or electrical engineering and at least 10 years experience 
in the field of radiation control, hygiene or safety, including 5 years 
in a position involving responsibility for planning, developing and 
carrying out research and development projects relating to radiation 
hazards and radiation control or safety standards, and 3 years in a 
position involving responsibility for radiation dosimetry including both 
x-ray equipment and radioactive materials. It is preferred that 
candidates have experience in the operation and management of 
NRC/Agreement State radiation control programs, and a thorough knowledge 
of federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations dealing with
