In combat, these aircraft can carry DU projectiles that also explode, but
they are frightfully expensive, even within the Pentagon frame of
reference. So, it is rare that they are used on training missions. However,
they MUST be used at some time in training missions because the weight
alters the handling of the aircraft in high-performance maneuvers, and
firing the weapons adds a degree of recoil the pilot must get used to.
