EG&G has (had) monitoring systems that are flown in either helicopters
or conventional aircraft. Normal U (and certainly DU) can be detected by
such systems.

The extent of U contamination around LLNL's Site 300, where U and DU
were explosively dispersed is documented in various LLNL annual
environmental monitoring reports, the data being collected by EG&G.
