O-D and N-D bonds are going to have a vastly different vibrational
frequency than the corresponding O-H, N-H bonds. This is apt to alter
enzyme kinetics.  I suspect that people are designed to run on hydrogen,
and deuterium will cause problems.  It might be a little like running 70 wt in
your car when the manufacturer recommends 20 wt.
