RE: Radio Assay for Rare Earths

Dear Radsafers:

Can any one out there tell us about how to assay  (quantitative , uCi/gm) 
for   U238, Th-232 and K-40 etc in refractory cement or clay?  How the 
extraction for gamma assay done from a dry sample and any standards for the 
extract. prep ?  How does the gamma analysis done i.e. detection set up and 
counting  ?  Are there any analytical labs that do these type of analysis 
?
