Re: S-35 volatility



As I recall, the manufacturers still recommend opening vials in a a filtered
hood in their information packages. Also, experimentally these reagents are
used to metabolically label cells. The cells metabolize the S-35 into
[uncharacterized] volatile components and hence the reason to still keep
some charcoal around the experimental samples. The amount released may be
tiny, but ALARA is ALARA and it isn't a difficult thing to do.
