RE: airflow measurement

Industrial Hygiene sampling frequently requires the measurement of airflow
through the sampling tube or filter cassette to determine the sample size. 
The instrument we use for this purpose is a bubble calibrator.  These
measure the time a bubble film takes to pass between two photocells mounted
at the ends of a tube with a known inner diameter.  A commercial unit
manufactured by Gilian can measure from 1 cc/min to 30 lpm depending on the
measureing head (tube size) installed.  These can be purchased or rented
from Reis Environmental.
