Waste Volume
Hello, Radsafers:
On volumes of waste in liquid carboys, containers, etc. We know the volume
of our regular liquid carboys, 2/5 gallons, 5 (but holds closer to 6
gallons), and we then take the gallons and multiply by 3785 ml/gallon, to
get the ml or cc. Then activity/cc is easy. For other containers, or
partially full containers, we "eyeball" them to estimate the number of
liters/gallons, or knowing the size of the container (1 liter bottles,
etc.), we can do the same. It is accurate enough to satisfy regulators
over the past 10 years.
